Gothic fashion shows

In order to gain a better understanding on the term gothic I decided to research into gothic fashion shows, I felt this would help me when creating the character styling for Quentin and Mrs Laderman my to chosen characters o recreate for chosen TV series the American Horror story season four the freak show.
 
I found a video clip of a 2011 gothic fashion show on Youtube .The fashion show explores the use of gothic music dark hair and makeup accompanied with gothic style clothing.

 

Gothic fashion first became popular during the 1990s, when the grunge looks first appeared on catwalks. The 1990s gothic style however started to reappear in 2014 when catwalks incorporated the lace, knee high boots a variety of black clothing and gothic style chokers . Many well known designers such as Emporio Armani and Katie Gallagher were responsible for the recurrence of Gothic fashion shows.

Here is a photograph from the Emporio Armani fashion show for a fall and winter clothing collection. After analysing the photograph the three models are seen with a short hair cut and a pale complexion accompanied with dark eye makeup, in terms of the clothing the models are seen wearing black patent shoes and long jackets accompanied with fur, in order to complete the outfit it is noticeable the models are wearing black pinstriped trousers suits and a black skater skirt, the overall I feel comes across quite androgynous and business like.

Here is a photograph from Katie Gallagher's New York fall 2013 fashion show, the loo overall can be considered as quite gothic . After analysing some of the looks created by Katie Gallagher for the show, it is noticeable that majority of the clothing were a variety of long styled black dress accompanied with dark boot heels. I feel Katie Gallagher's looks which were created for the show although they appear quite gothic I feel they will appeal to majority of women who do not dress in the gothic style.
