Developing ideas
in order to create my Mrs Laderman character I wanted to take into consideration the circus element, femme fetale and burlesque in or for it to relate to my chosen TV series.
Here is my first attempt at my Mrs Laderman makeup design, in order to create this look I firstly applied a white skin base by Illamasqua to my face which I then blended in using my buffer brush, once the product looked even I then applied a white illmasqua loose powder to my face in order to secure the product. Then I applied a dark pink from my kryolan eyeshadow pallet to my cheekbones which I extended up to my temples, I also applied he same colour underneath my eyes. Next I applied a dark purple to my eye sockets and a white to my eyelids and underneath my brows, In order to complete my eye application I used my black supracolour and fine liner brush to create an eyeliner flick and also three triangles underneath the eyes, which I then used the end of my makeup brush and pink supracolour to create three dots t the end of the triangles. I then used the black supracolour and pink to create a circus like pattern on my neck using a fine liner brush and my blending brush. Finally to complete the look I applied a dark pink from my supracolour pallet to my lips.
I wasn't too keen on the outcome of my first attempt for my Mrs Laderman design although I liked he design I wasn't too sure whether it would work well, therefore I create a face chart which I was happy with but with out the the neck pattern and decided to attempt it as my final design.
Here is my first face chat which I created for my final design , I was generally quite happy with the outcome the only thing I feel I could have improved on was the lip application. In order to create this look I applied a dark pink to the cheekbones and the temples and a light pink to under the eyes. I then used a purple from my supracolour pallet to highlight the eye sockets and a white to highlight the eye lids and under the brows. I then completed the eye application by adding an eyeliner flick to the eye and four triangles underneath the eyes using black supracolour which I added pink dots to the ends o using pink supracolour and the end of my makeup brush. Finally to complete the look I applied a dark red from my lip pallet to the lips.
Here is a photograph which I took in the studio of my first attempt at creating my Mrs Laderman character, unfortunately I was unhappy with the outcome of my first design I felt it looked messy and the makeup application underneath the eyes looked unsymmetrical , another mistake which I also made is I applied my white Illmasqua skin base to the face and neck but not to my models arms and hands which were on show as a result this looked a little odd.
In order to create this look I firstly applied a white skin base to the face ad neck and blended the product into the face using my buffer brush, once the make up looked even I then applied my white illamaqua loose power to set the product. Next I applied a pink from my eye shadow pallet to the cheekbones and extended it up towards the temples, then I applied a purple frm the same pallet to the eye sockets and a white to the eyelids and underneath the brows, I thn used a fine liner brush a my black supracolour to create an eye liner flick and the triangles underneath the eyes. Next I used the tip of a hair pin and a dark pink from my supracolour pallet to add dots to the ends of the triangles Finally to complete the look I applied a bright red mac lipstick to the lips.
I was generally quite happy with the outcome of the hair I felt it related to the 1950s and Burlesque hairstyles which I was advised to research, I create the hairstyle by firstly sectioning the hair into a side parting and then curling the hair by using the roller work technique which I learnt in my technical lesson, gothic Victorian hairstyles, I then used a comb to slightly backcomb the hair off the face.
I also felt the clothing chosen for my character didn't relate to my chosen horror series. After making some minor changes on the characters makeup and clothing , I decided to reshoot my final Mrs Laderman design.
Here is my second attempt at creatin my Mrs Laderman design. I was much happier with the outcome. the minor changes whih I made were, changing the white skin base to a foundation which matched my models skin , changing the application underneath the eyes which looked messy and unsymmetical to fine lines above and below the eyes. I also change the colour of the lip application from a bright red to a black mixed with a minimal amount of red. I also changed the outfit from a fowery cami top to a black corset in order for it to relate to the circus theme from the American horror story freak show.
Here is a photograph of my final face chart which I created, I also listed the products used down the side of the face chart in order to make it easier to recreate the look. I was generally quite happy with the outcome of my face chart I felt I blended the colours together well and the colours contrasted well, the makeup application applied to the eyes I also felt looked more symmetrical than my previous design.
In order to create my face chart, I firstly outlined the features using caraway a little brown eye shadow from my kryolan pallet, next I applied a dark pink to the cheekbones which I extended up to the temples and also underneath the eyes. In order to separate the two colors I applied a white from the kryolan eye shadow pallet to act as a highlighter. Next I used my blending brush and shallot a dark purple from my eye shadow pallet to highlight the eye sockets, then I applied a white from the same pallet to the eyelids and underneath the brows. I then created the brows using my rounded blending brush and a brow from my eye shadow pallet. Finally to complete the eye application I used my final liner brush to create an eyeliner flick some lashes and a thin line above and below the eyes . Finally to complete my look I applied black supracolour to the lips.

Here was inspiration for my Mrs Laderman final makeup design I really liked the contrast in colours and felt the makeup design could easily be incorporated into my final design and would also relate to my chosen TV series.
Here is a sketch I created conveying my Mrs Laderman hairstyle although it looks quite unclear de to being sketched in pencil the style I wanted to convey was a side parting and a curled hairstyle where the fringe is slightly back combed off the face.
Here is another hair sketch for my Ms Laderman character, it is quite unclear due to being sketched in pencil , my idea is to style to hair and a sleek bun.
Here is another face chart which I created for my Mrs Laderman idea, I wanted to incorporate the circus element into y face chart. However I felt the makeup appeared quite plain and messy. In order to create this look I firstly outlined the features using caraway a light brown from my eye shadow pallet, then I applied an orange yellow and pink eye shadow to the cheeks and a red to the tip of the nose in order to look like a clown. Then I outlined the eyelids using a fine liner brush and black supracolour. Finally to complete the look I applied red supracolour to the lips.
Here is my inspiration for my Mrs Laderman face chart, I like the use of colours used and feel it resembles a circus and would work well with my chosen TV series .

Here is my attempt at a hairstyle for my Mrs Laderman character, my idea was to create a sleek bun, in order to create this hairstyle I first brushed the hair back into a ponytail and sectioned the ponytail into four, I then brushed the sections and slightly back combed the hair finally rolling the hair in a bun shape which I secured with hair pins. I was generally quite happy with the outcome of my Mrs Laderman hairstyle, The only thing I feel I could have improved was making the hairstyle overall more neater by applying gel or hairspray to any stray hairs.
After creating this hairstyle I decided not to use it for my final hair design for my character due to my chosen TV series being setback in the 1950s, I don't feel a sleek bun really relates to the ea.
Here was another face chart which I created for my Mrs Laderman design, in order to create this look I firstly applied caraway a light brown from my eye shadow pallet to the convex areas of the face. Then I applied a dark pink from the same pallet to the cheekbones. Next I applied a purple from the same pallet to the eye sockets and a white to the eyelids . Finally to complete my eye makeup application I decided to create purple and pink flicks situated off the eyelids and a black eyeliner flick using the colours from my supracolour pallet. Finally to complete my look I applied a dark pink from my supracolour pallet to the lips.
I was generally quite happy with the outcome of my face chart I felt the chosen colours worked well together the only thing I wold have improved was making sue the flicks were more symmetrical.
After creating a face chart for one of my Mrs Laderman ideas I then decided to try it as a makeup look. Unfortunately I decided not to use this for my final design due to finding it quite difficult to keep the flicks symmetrical and also due to feeling the flicks made the look appear quite tribal looking.
In order to create this look I firstly applied an olive foundation to my skin which I blended out using my buffer brush, I then secured the makeup using my Illamaqua loose powder. Next I applied a pink from my kryolan eye shadow pallet to the cheekbones and temples. I then applied a white eye shadow from the same pallet to underneath my eyes and to my eye lids I hen used a purple from the same pallet to highlight my eye sockets. Finally to complete my eye makeup application I applied a black flick underneath my eye and on the arch of my eye using black supracolour and my fine liner brush, I then applied pink and purple flics using the same products above the eyelids using my fine liner brush. Finally to complete my look I applied dark pink supracolour to my lips.
I was generally quite happy with the outcome of my design the only thing I feel I could have improved on was making the flicks on the eye makeup application more symmetrical.
Here is another Mrs Laderman makeup look I attempted to create, in order to create this look I created a heart shaped stencil on my face using black eye shadow from kryolan, then I applied to the stencil white illamasqua skin base , to the remainder of my face I applied a white olive foundation. I blended the product in using my buffer brush. Next I applied a pink from my kryolan eye shadow pallet to the circles of my cheeks. The I applied a white from the same pallet to my eye lids and a purple to my eye sockets, I then applied mascara t my eyes and create an eyeliner flick using black supracolour and a fine liner brush. finally to complete my look I applied a pink from m lip pallet by kryolan to my lips.
I was generally quite happy with the outcome of this style of makeup however I feel this look has been created many times before. I felt the makeup also looked very effective and my choice of colours worked well together, the only thing i feel I could have improved on as making the heart shape more symmetrical and neat.

Here is my inspiration for one of my Mrs Laderman makeup ideas, I like how the makeup resembled the circus I felt this would relate to my chosen TV series.
Here is my final Mrs Laderman makeup deign which I decided to shoot in the studio. I was generally quite happy with the outcome , the colours however appeared darker than what they did on camera, the only thing I feel I could have improved on as making the lines situated above and below the eyes more symmetrical. I carried out this makeup design by using the same technique as I did on my final face chart and the look I shot in the studio.
Here is another Mrs Laderman hair design which I created, I however decided to use this design for my final Mrs Laderman look however due to my model having slightly longer hair it look quite different. I created this look by firstly sectioning the hair into a side parting using my pin tail comb , next I started to curl the larger section of hair under using the curling tongs until about the temples, I secured each curl in place with a hair pin, I also carried out the same technique on the smaller section of hair. The I curled the remaining side sections of hair towards the ace and secured the hair in place with a hair pin. Then I curled the back using the brick work technique due to curling hair above the crown I firstly had to curl one section then split the section below into two in order for the curls to appear even I then had to carry on with the technique until the whole head was curled. Once the whole head was curled I then took all the pins out which left me with gothic style curls finally I backcombed the hair so it was slightly off the face.

Here was my inspiration for my final Mrs Laderman hair design. I like how the hair was curled off the face not taking the focus off of the makeup.
