Gothic music

gothic music is also known as a darker style of punk music which originated in the 1970s. The term gothic music was listened to by death rockers and as a result as known as death rock music .The term gothic has also been known to describe medieval style folk music , which feature violins and flutes. Another more recent style of music which come under the category of gothic music is darkwave, this style of music sounds more electronic . The darkwave style of music originated in 1983 when Sam Rosenthal released his electronic style of music. The gothic style of music is also separated into many divisions other than rock and punk. The terms alternative, industrial and new wave/modern which was known to have originated in the 1980s are a couple of other categories which come under the gothic category.

Gothic music origin

Siouxsie Sioux  and Peter Murphy are two of the most common artists known for their gothic style of music. Bauhaus was the band Peter Murphy was in, their first album was released in 1976. Siouxsie and the Banshees was the band which Siouxsie Sioux  was a member of, their first album was released in 1978.
